On the Road Again – Seattle to Portland

12/04/08

After a few days of packing and repacking, organizing and re-organizing, and generally running around, we are finally on the road again!  We managed to get our new roofbag set up and stable – and are hoping that this one will actually be as waterproof as advertised.  Having learned a few lessons from our northern jaunt, the inside of the van is more organized and functional than ever.  Barring a few last minute toiletry needs, we are ready for Mexico and beyond….

It was a gorgeous sunny day, 48 degrees – perfect for the short drive to Portland.  The clear skies allowed for magnificent views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood.  We arrived in Portland at rush hour (oops) and headed toward my cousin’s studio in the southeast sector of the city.  Teresa designs fabulous unique jewelry pieces from agate, sterling silver, gold and/or stained glass…and who knows what will be next!  Both Jessica and I picked out new necklaces for the trip.  Teresa’s excellent designs can be found at stoneandhoney.com and smallthingsdesigns.com.
