The Malecón

A stroll along the Malecon from Playa Olas Altas, near our apartment, to the Zorado Dorado in the northern part of town is highlighted by a collection of seaside sculptures. This promenade is ideally suited for pedestrian traffic and is well used by locals and tourists alike.


El Venadito
The name Mazatlán means land of the deer. It  is rooted in the  Nahuatl Indian word "Mazatl," which means deer

El Clavadista – Cliff divers plunge some 45 from this point into a shallow rocky cove. Not surprisingly, tips are actively sought for this feat.

A fish cleaning method which involves hammering the knife blade through the fish. The fish species remains unidentified to us.

Monumento a la Pulmonia – These open air taxis were originally rumored by standard cab drivers to cause the flu – the name has stuck


Monumento a la Cerveza Pacifico     


The copper cooking vat was designed by brewery workers and would be capable of holding 24,000 liters (6336 gallons). It was presented in March of 2000 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Pacifico brewery.
